Things to do in Zeeland

Nature
Burgh-Haamstede is ideal for nature lovers. The nearest beach is Het Verklikkerstrand, the widest and quietest beach in the Netherlands. Seals show themselves regularly.
Next door is De Vroongronden nature reserve, with wild ponies, deer, roe deer and walking/cycling paths to see it all.
Boswachterij Westerschouwen is a fantastic forest area, suitable for long walks and bike rides. And so are De Zeepeduinen.
Oosterschelde National Park is the largest national park in the Netherlands. It is a birds paradise and it is also a unique area for divers.
Watersports
The Kop van Schouwen is the ideal place for water sports enthusiasts. The North Sea side is a mecca for kite surfers. Hundreds of kite surfers let off steam along the Brouwersdam and the Oosterscheldekering.
Windsurfers will find ideal conditions on the Grevelingen side of the Brouwersdam.
Sailors can enjoy themselves on both brackish and salt water. Whether there is a breeze or a strong southeasterly, it is always nice.
Canoeing and supping is done on the Grevelingen.

Grabbing a terrace
For other pleasures you are also in the right place on Schouwen-Duiveland.
There is always something to do in bustling Renesse. Nice restaurants, terraces on the beach, cozy shops. Historic Zierikzee with its beautiful old harbor is also more than worth a visit.
A trip to Domburg, Middelburg or Veere is of course always possible. Even on the bike if you are in the right physical condition.
Horse riding
Horse lovers also like to come to Burgh-Haamstede. The beach, forests and hinterland are excellent for a horseback ride. Various routes have been set out.
If you come with your own horse, there are various possibilities to stable your horse.
Of course, nothing beats galloping on the beach and through the surf, but be aware of the times when this is allowed.
